It could be argued that life is better with bubbles. Contrary to popular belief, breaking out the sparkling wine doesn’t have to be reserved for special occasions.
In fact, any occasion that involves sparkling wine is a special occasion in and of itself! There are approximately 100 million bubbles in one standard bottle of sparkling wine. That’s 100 million reasons to drink more bubbly, but we’ll stick to just five.
1. You Can Enjoy now or later
Sure, you could age sparkling wine or Champagne in your cellar for 10 years. The result? A richer, fuller, and textured mouthfeel with more decadence and complexity. Or, you could pop that bottle today for a light, crisp, and refreshing wine. Sparkling wines and Champagnes are always ready to drink by the time they are made available. The choice is yours!
2. Follow your heart
Blanc De Noirs, the style of sparkling made at Fritz Underground Winery, means “white from reds.” This style of sparkling wine or Champagne is traditionally made using red Pinot Noir or Pinot Meunier grapes, which means it has many of the same heart-healthy benefits as red wine. Our sparkling wine is made from 100% Pinot Noir grapes from the Russian River, and within red grapes, there are high levels of polyphenols—antioxidants that are said to be good for your heart. That seems like one good reason to break out the bubbly more often!
3. Awaken your palate
Just as you would reach for a crisp sparkling water or an ice cold beer, think of sparkling wine as the ultimate refreshment. When enjoyed during a weekend brunch, this effervescent elixir will awaken your senses, leaving you ready to take on the day. In the evening, it can be a nice way to cleanse your palate, especially following a day of tasting through red wines.
4. Every pair is the perfect pair
An incredibly food-friendly wine, sparkling wines pair perfectly with almost any type of cuisine. Complementary to everything from creamy cheese to spicy Thai to chocolate cake, the versatility is impressive. Most traditionally enjoyed with breakfast food (hold the orange juice, please), bright acidity pairs harmoniously with the decadent quality of eggs or the flaky, buttery goodness of a freshly baked croissant.
5. Make every day a celebration
New Year’s Eve? Just got engaged? These are some go-to occasions for drinking sparkling wine. But here’s another one: Sunday. That’s right, your regular Sunday just turned into a Sparkling Sunday. Sparkling wine is considered a special, celebratory drink. So shouldn’t something so special be enjoyed all of the time? We think so.
